About the position

The Department of Transportation, Bureau of Equal Opportunity, is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Manager, Business Opportunity. This role is pivotal in leading the development and management of diverse business opportunity programs, including the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Diverse Business, Small Business, and Mentor Protege Program. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and a proven track record in program development and execution, ensuring equity in PennDOT's business opportunity initiatives for both internal and external customers. In this position, you will oversee the planning, development, and implementation of program requirements and deliverables. You will also direct the creation and presentation of equal opportunity curriculum to be delivered to partners. This role involves supervising several professional staff positions and providing guidance to PennDOT executive team members, managers, and supervisors regarding equal opportunity policies and programs. Your efforts will play a vital role in promoting the fair implementation of PennDOT initiatives, enhancing your career while making a significant impact on the community. The work schedule is full-time, with hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 60-minute lunch break. There is an option for an alternate work schedule (AWS) and the possibility of teleworking part-time, up to three days per week, provided you have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location within Pennsylvania. The starting salary for this position ranges from $75,678.00 to $114,915.00 annually, and in some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • One year as an Equal Opportunity Specialist 3 (Commonwealth title); or
  • Four years of analytical experience in an equal opportunity program that includes three years of professional experience and one year of supervisory experience, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of supervisory experience.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
