About the position

The Manager of Career Services Outreach & Special Programs at Austin Community College is responsible for overseeing and managing outreach initiatives and special programming aimed at achieving career services objectives. This role focuses on promoting equitable career and employment outcomes for priority populations, ensuring that all students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed in their career goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the success of career services outreach initiatives and special programming.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate proactive intervention and support activities for career services special programs.
  • Coordinate, plan, and implement career programming and outreach activities, including training staff and scheduling interactions with stakeholders.
  • Supervise, train, and manage special project staff and student workers, adhering to HR policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports and maintain documentation of activities related to career services.
  • Track, collect, analyze, and produce reports on student career intent and outcomes.
  • Participate in developing marketing and communication strategies to promote career services programs.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with internal departments to streamline access to career services for priority student groups.
  • Monitor project data collection and assist in developing outreach programs based on data analysis.
  • Participate in institutional committees related to student success and retention goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of legislation and policies impacting student career readiness.
  • Serve as a communication liaison for recruitment and outreach efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of related work experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation for local travel.

  • Knowledge of cultural competence in promoting student success and equity.
  • Familiarity with National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) standards.
  • Experience with career services specific technologies and platforms.
