About the position

The Manager of Catering Sales at Bally's Shreveport is responsible for driving sales and managing catering operations within the hotel. This role involves soliciting accounts, preparing sales presentations, coordinating events, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The manager will oversee the catering team, handle contracts, and maintain compliance with company policies while fostering a fun and energetic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Directly solicits regional, state, civic, government, and corporate accounts.
  • Prepares sales and bid presentations.
  • Coordinates sales-related/special event projects.
  • Develops sales and marketing tools as needed.
  • Prepares monthly sales reports.
  • Conducts site inspections and attends trade shows and meetings.
  • Handles contracts and BEOs related to catering functions.
  • Attends industry meetings and networking functions.
  • Prepares group booking contracts for signature.
  • Follows up on advance deposits and credit approvals.
  • Coordinates with customers on convention programs and menu selections.
  • Prepares convention resumes for large groups prior to arrival.
  • Ensures timely execution of all catering events with banquet management staff.
  • Maintains relevant records and oversees department records.
  • Motivates and develops staff, providing guidance and training.
  • Conducts employee evaluations and manages payroll and labor costs.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of management experience in a 3 - 4-star hotel required.
  • Prior experience in convention sales, catering sales, or food and beverage management preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; college preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Breeze system preferred.
  • Superior customer service and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and handle various situations effectively.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hotel management or catering sales is preferred.
