About the position

The Manager, Center Store at SpartanNash is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department within a retail store. This role involves ensuring that associates are well-trained, the department is fully staffed, and operations meet company standards and performance goals. The manager will also handle inventory management, staff development, and compliance with food safety and operational guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of department operations in a retail store.
• Order and maintain inventory while ensuring product freshness and quality.
• Review and validate received orders for accuracy and condition.
• Manage a team responsible for stocking, production, and quality assurance.
• Maintain familiarity with all products and promotions in the store.
• Communicate and execute weekly and period Flight Plans to company expectations.
• Implement work schedules and manage labor and payroll expenses.
• Model core values and competencies while managing department staff.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
• Participate in daily huddles and manager meetings as required.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership abilities in a hands-on environment.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations and management systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.
