The Manager of Clinical Operations for Renal Dialysis is responsible for the comprehensive planning, management, implementation, and evaluation of operations and services within the dialysis unit. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the services provided are of high quality, efficient, and cost-effective. The manager will participate in both short and long-term planning, analyzing and forecasting the needs of the area to ensure optimal staffing and resource utilization. A key responsibility of this position is to monitor the quality of patient care and patient satisfaction, overseeing the implementation of measures aimed at improving both. The manager will facilitate care delivery in alignment with the patient-focused model and support case management practices in accordance with AdvocateAurora and Christ Medical Center protocols. Additionally, the manager will develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure effective and efficient operations consistent with the organization's philosophy and regulatory standards. Compliance with all regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and accrediting organizations, is a critical aspect of this role. The manager will promote patient safety by reporting issues through established channels and participating in safety initiatives. Furthermore, the manager will be responsible for developing and incorporating performance improvement projects, ensuring that standards of practice are established, implemented, and evaluated. This role assumes 24-hour responsibility for assigned areas of operation and may require divisional coverage as necessary. In terms of staff management, the manager will be responsible for the selection, development, motivation, and evaluation of staff. This includes recruiting, mentoring, and motivating direct reports to achieve departmental and personal goals. The manager will ensure timely performance evaluations, coordinate recruitment activities, and facilitate retention strategies. Additionally, the manager will assess the educational needs of the staff and provide opportunities for professional development, ensuring an adequate orientation program is in place. The manager will also be tasked with the preparation and administration of budgets, ensuring adequate personnel, facilities, and supplies are maintained. This includes planning and monitoring the annual budget, justifying variances, and developing proposals for new and expanding programs. Effective working relationships with internal and external contacts are essential, as the manager will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assure quality care and patient satisfaction. Finally, the manager is expected to engage in personal and professional growth, staying current with standards of care through literature, educational events, and networking. Maintaining memberships in professional organizations and participating in continuing education activities are also important aspects of this role.
