About the position

The Manager, Clinical Operations at Arbor Hospice is responsible for providing clinical leadership and ensuring quality patient care within designated geographic regions. This role involves overseeing patient care activities, collaborating with various departments, and leading initiatives to improve service satisfaction and clinical outcomes. The manager will also handle human resources efficiently, manage budgets, and develop marketing strategies to enhance service delivery and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective organizational strategic results are achieved, working collaboratively with others.
  • Maintain oversight of all patient care activity and outcomes within designated geographic regions.
  • Foster a culture of compliance, accountability, and excellence in patient care.
  • Collaborate with staff and management from multiple departments to achieve outcomes.
  • Lead and participate in core care delivery process redesign efforts to improve quality and service satisfaction outcomes.
  • Analyze data to evaluate the quality of patient care services and resource utilization.
  • Interpret and convey benchmarking standards to staff to ensure quality services are met or exceeded.
  • Manage team human resources efficiently and within budget, overseeing staff activities and caseload management.
  • Work with referral sources to meet their needs, including flexible hours.
  • Develop and implement marketing and customer service tactics to resolve customer complaints.
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership to develop a business development orientation among team members.
  • Participate in market operations team meetings to oversee the Marketing & Business Development Plan.
  • Develop professional relationships with referral sources in assigned territory.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Stay updated on hospice and palliative care trends and compliance requirements.
  • Develop staff within assigned areas of responsibility and provide ongoing support and education.
  • Facilitate collaboration and sharing of best practices within clinical and leadership areas.
  • Promote knowledge of palliative care and hospice philosophies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical and/or administrative field or actively enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program with completion expected within two years.
  • Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of three years of health care management experience required; five years preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of hospice/home health experience required; five to seven years preferred.
  • Certification in hospice nursing (CHPN) preferred.
  • Expertise in regulatory requirements and compliance as it pertains to hospice required.
  • Ability to travel extensively through the region, including overnight stays if needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Understanding of performance improvement initiatives at departmental and organizational levels.
  • Ability to effectively use technology in support of management and clinical operations.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in hospice nursing (CHPN) preferred.
