About the position

As the Manager of Clinical Services RN at Brookdale Rosehill, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the clinical services department within our facility. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the highest standards of quality care are maintained in accordance with community standards and federal and state regulations. You will work closely with the Director of Clinical Services to manage the clinical services department, which includes assessing the needs of residents and implementing comprehensive care plans tailored to their individual requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting regular resident rounds to assess nursing care and the overall condition of residents, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. You will also act as a liaison between residents, their families, physicians, and staff, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Your duties will include participating in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures governing clinical operations, as well as making recommendations to the Director regarding nursing department operations. Additionally, you will assist in the evaluation of associates and participate in disciplinary actions as necessary. You will ensure proper transitions of nursing reports during shift changes and conduct follow-up investigations related to medication errors, providing education as needed. Your role will also involve monitoring supplies, maintaining cleanliness in assigned work areas, and ensuring compliance with medication management regulations. Regular attendance at staff meetings and participation in continuing education programs will be essential to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the identified unit.
  • Adhere to community standards and maintain the highest degree of quality care at all times.
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services in managing the day-to-day operations of the clinical services department.
  • Assess the needs and development of residents and implement comprehensive care plans accordingly.
  • Consult with residents' physicians in planning resident care.
  • Review and update comprehensive care plans periodically, ensuring they are interdisciplinary and updated by the Charge Nurse as changes occur.
  • Work with interdisciplinary team members in developing discharge plans for individual residents.
  • Conduct resident rounds to assess and supervise nursing care, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Assist Charge Nurse with resident care needs and audits documentation.
  • Communicate and act as a liaison between residents, family, physician, and staff.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining policy and procedures that govern clinical services operations.
  • Make written and verbal recommendations to the Director of Clinical Services concerning nursing department operations.
  • Participate in associate evaluations and disciplinary actions as required.
  • Ensure proper transition of nursing reports upon starting and ending shift duty hours.
  • Complete follow-up investigations and provide education related to medication errors as needed.
  • Report occupational exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with community policy.
  • Ensure assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Monitor supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Ensure medication room and cart are locked according to regulations.
  • Follow up on pharmacy recommendations to assure response and implementation of order changes.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in continuing education in-service programs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in nursing service administration.
  • One year of management experience preferred.
  • Current RN state nursing certification in good standing with no actions on nursing license.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
