About the position

Brookdale is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the identified unit, ensuring that we adhere to community standards and maintain the highest degree of quality care at all times. You will work closely with the Director of Clinical Services to manage the clinical services department, assessing the needs of residents and implementing comprehensive care plans in consultation with their physicians. Your role will also involve conducting resident rounds to supervise nursing care, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment, and acting as a liaison between residents, families, physicians, and staff. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will participate in developing discharge plans for residents and ensure that comprehensive care plans are regularly reviewed and updated. You will also be involved in policy and procedure development for the clinical services department and will have a role in associate evaluations and disciplinary actions as required. Your responsibilities will include ensuring proper transitions of nursing reports during shift changes, conducting follow-up investigations related to medication errors, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in assigned work areas. Regular attendance at staff meetings and participation in continuing education programs will be expected to ensure you remain current in your practice. Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the identified unit.
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services in managing the clinical services department.
  • Assess the needs and development of residents and implement comprehensive care plans accordingly.
  • Consult with residents' physician in planning resident care and periodically review care plans.
  • Work with interdisciplinary team members in developing discharge plans for residents.
  • Conduct resident rounds to assess nursing care and ensure a safe environment.
  • Assist Charge Nurse with resident care needs and audits documentation.
  • Communicate and act as a liaison between residents, family, physician, and staff.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining policy and procedures for clinical services operations.
  • Make recommendations to the Director of Clinical Services regarding nursing department operations.
  • Participate in associate evaluations and disciplinary actions as required.
  • Ensure proper transition of nursing reports during shift changes.
  • Complete follow-up investigations related to medication errors and provide follow-up education as needed.
  • Ensure assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Monitor supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Follow up on pharmacy recommendations to assure response and implementation of order changes.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in continuing education in-service programs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in nursing service administration.
  • One year of management experience preferred.
  • Current RN state nursing certification in good standing with no actions on nursing license.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
