About the position

The Cloud Sales Manager at Confluent is responsible for leading a team of Cloud Account Executives (AEs) to drive new customer acquisition and growth in the streaming data ecosystem. This role is pivotal in executing the company's Customer Growth go-to-market strategy, focusing on building a high-performing team that is passionate about sales and customer engagement. The manager will be measured on the team's overall quota, new logo acquisition, and the growth of Confluent usage.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively hire, train, coach, and manage a team of motivated Cloud AEs to increase Confluent's footprint in strategic and emerging markets.
  • Inspire a culture of hard work, collaboration, customer love, and ongoing improvement.
  • Develop productive and trusting relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Encourage and support continuous learning and understanding of a technical product and technical customer base.
  • Build and execute your team's success plans, ensuring forecast accuracy and the growth of a predictable, ambitious business.
  • Grow consumption in PAYG and Commit accounts (ARR) across your territory.

Requirements

  • Experience building and managing high-growth teams serving customers within the Cloud, Data, or SaaS sales industries.
  • History of exceeding sales quotas and KPIs in high-growth, competitive companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate the business value of complex cloud technologies, especially with technical customers.
  • Proven ability to solve complex business problems and adapt to the fast-changing nature of high-growth companies.
  • Passionate about growing your career and developing an in-depth understanding of Confluent Cloud products, use cases, and customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Inside Sales/Inside Sales Management experience.
  • Proven curiosity and knowledge of event streaming and other cloud technologies.
  • Experience with experimenting, building, and problem-solving in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Additional customer-facing experience.
  • A process-driven change agent willing to take on new projects and company initiatives.
