About the position

The Manager, Commercial Data Visualization at Forward Air is responsible for designing and developing interactive data visualizations that drive actionable insights to support revenue growth. This role requires a strong background in data analysis and visualization, as well as collaboration with cross-functional teams to address business challenges in the LTL and Freight Forwarding industry.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and objectives.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on data insights.
• Design and create interactive dashboards, charts, graphs, and reports that effectively communicate data insights.
• Develop and implement visual standards and best practices to ensure consistency and clarity.
• Utilize tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization software to build and maintain visualizations.
• Continuously explore and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data visualization capabilities.
• Work closely with Sales Leaders, Analysts, and business units to translate complex data into user-friendly visualizations.
• Present findings and visualizations to stakeholders, providing clear and actionable insights.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of visualizations by conducting thorough testing and validation.
• Address and resolve any issues related to data quality or visualization functionality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Graphic Design, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in data visualization, data analysis, or a related role, preferably in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain disciplines.
• Proven experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
• Working knowledge of freight management systems and familiarity with industry-specific datasets.
• Strong proficiency in data visualization best practices and principles.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data manipulation languages is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and design aesthetics.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain industries.
• Familiarity with freight management systems.
