About the position

The Manager of Communication and Public Affairs at Johnson & Johnson will lead the development and execution of integrated communication strategies to support the US Innovative Medicine business. This role involves working across various therapeutic areas, including Oncology, Immunology, and Neuroscience, to enhance the company's reputation and drive business growth through proactive public relations and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business unit growth and build stakeholder trust/advocacy through proactive public relations.
  • Operate an agile communication model that adapts focus and resources based on business priorities and cycles.
  • Serve as lead communication/public relations support for key brands and/or initiatives in Oncology, Immunology, Neuroscience, and Pulmonary Hypertension.
  • Develop strong partnerships with leadership, including Vice Presidents of Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs across multiple brands.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic communication plans that drive key business and reputation outcomes.
  • Anticipate and address emerging market issues to protect the company's reputation.
  • Develop and execute public affairs strategies in partnership with Policy colleagues.
  • Manage public relations budgets and resources effectively.
  • Build relationships with key third-party influencers and external constituencies.
  • Proactively identify potential brand-related issues and develop management strategies.
  • Drive employee engagement through effective organizational communications.

Requirements

  • BA required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading communications in a company, NGO, government agency, or public relations agency.
  • Proven track record of successful public relations/communications achievements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful partnerships and influence with senior executives.
  • Superior written, oral, and visual communication abilities.
  • Deep understanding of digital and social platforms.
  • Experience dealing with national and local media is preferred.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, Medtech, or healthcare industries is preferred.
  • Experience in crisis/issues management is preferred.
  • Experience in oncology, immunology, neuroscience, or pulmonary disease space is preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytic ability is preferred.
  • Experience in managing budgets and schedules is required.
