About the position

The Manager, Communications & Change Management plays a crucial role in supporting day-to-day communications related to the global strategy, culture, and business goals of Genuine Parts Company (GPC). This position is part of the GPC Global Strategic Communications team and reports to the Director of Global Internal Communications. The manager will lead multi-channel communications strategies and develop change management strategies for global initiatives, ensuring effective communication and engagement with employees throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the One GPC strategy and global teams through planning, development, and distribution of engaging content.
  • Develop and manage a range of internal communications, including emails, newsletters, intranet content, and presentations.
  • Serve as the primary change manager, partnering with global teams to communicate and implement strategic initiatives effectively.
  • Translate key concepts from global project teams into compelling communications.
  • Create clear communications processes to enable rapid scaling and execution by teams.
  • Partner with the GPC Global Communications team to share news broadly when appropriate.
  • Provide analysis of communications results through dashboards or analytics reporting.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications by adhering to GPC's brand guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, marketing, or other relevant areas.
  • 7+ years' experience in writing, proofing, and/or editing copy in a corporate or agency environment.
  • Proficiency in change management and organizational change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, prioritizing clarity and brevity.
  • Keen understanding of AP Style.
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including personal impact, influence, and persuasion.
  • Excellent imagination and creativity in developing communications through various channels.
  • Ability to generate ideas while implementing them, balancing speed and quality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in journalism, communication, marketing, or other relevant areas.
  • Experience with employee or corporate communications in a global or dispersed organization.
  • Experience communicating global change management initiatives.
  • 10+ years' experience in writing, proofing, and/or editing copy in a corporate or agency environment.
  • Certifications in Change Management (CCMP) and/or Project Management (PMP).
