About the position

Nintendo of America Inc. is seeking a Manager of Communications Strategy to join our team in Redmond, WA. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing our communications strategy in partnership with the NOA Communications team and our publishing partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing goals for all third-party communications programs, which encompass influencer marketing, social media marketing, and public relations. The Manager will analyze gaming industry insights, summarize findings, and provide project management support to facilitate marketing insight development and campaign execution. Continuous evaluation of results will be essential, allowing for adjustments and innovations to improve return on investment (ROI). In this role, you will develop and prepare trend reports that communicate strategic marketing opportunities and propose recommendations to stakeholders, including individual contributors and marketing leadership. Regular reporting to leadership on project status and key performance indicators (KPIs) will be a critical aspect of the position. You will lead a team of individual contributors responsible for identifying third-party marketing beats to drive engagement on NOA social media channels and with traditional media targets. Supervising daily work and fostering team health and morale will be key responsibilities. Building and maintaining strong external relationships with development and publishing partners will be crucial to align on complementary strategies and deliver best-in-class work. Internally, you will drive success through regular interaction with stakeholders both locally and at global offices. Collaboration with channel owners across Nintendo of America, including social media, public relations, influencer, and editorial teams, will be essential. You will spearhead the development and implementation of tools and processes that optimize the team's ability to deliver on goals effectively and efficiently. Additionally, you will supervise the strategic integration of third-party titles into the full breadth of Nintendo of America's communications channels, setting strategy and prioritization for the communications calendar. Monitoring current events within and outside the industry will ensure timely communications management, and you will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to craft proactive and reactive messaging as needed. As required, you may represent Nintendo as an official corporate spokesperson and manage allocated budgets, including the creation and execution of funding agreements, Action Memos, and invoices. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of industry trends and best practices, as well as the ability to work with highly confidential information in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment that demands scheduling flexibility during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the development and implementation of tools and processes to optimize team performance.
  • Supervise strategic integration of third-party titles into Nintendo of America's communications channels.

Requirements

  • Minimum six (6) years of related experience.
  • Two to three (2-3) years of experience as a people manager and team leader.
  • Robust background in data analytics, forecast tracking, and ongoing ROI assessment.
  • Extensive experience in deadline-driven, end-to-end project management, with a focus on social media and public relations.
  • Experience managing and maintaining project budgets.
  • Knowledge of strategic social media and influencer marketing practices.
  • Experience developing and executing social media and influencer marketing programs.
  • Experience working with external social media and influencer agencies/vendors.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing tools, channels, and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of video games and the gaming industry.
  • Excellent gameplay skills, with ability to eloquently engage audiences while playing.
  • Software proficiencies: Advanced PC skills; emphasis on MS Office, Tableau, Smartsheet, Confluence.
  • Experience with communications insights tools like Netbase/Quid, Sprinklr and/or Metlwater.
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
