About the position

In support of the Company's pharmacy and retail operations, the Manager of Communications is responsible for managing the daily delivery of communications activities. This role ensures the accuracy and effectiveness of messaging while supporting the development and delivery of the overall communications plan. The Manager will work closely with operations leadership to support leader communications through various mediums, including messaging, announcements, presentation materials, video and audio scripts, and field visits. Additionally, the Manager serves as the project lead for the development of new communications channels, ensuring that all deliverables are achieved in a timely manner. The Manager provides strategic communications counsel to business unit leaders regarding initiatives that drive performance in the division and its critical functions. This includes supporting the development and implementation of an annual communications strategy and plan that is integrated with and supports the key activities of the business unit leaders and their objectives. The role involves developing and implementing communications strategies on key business unit initiatives, which includes outlining objectives and strategies, creating appropriate messaging, managing timelines and project deadlines, and managing client contributions and expectations. Coordination with Corporate Communications and other key stakeholders is essential to ensure that communications planning, execution, and messaging are integrated and aligned with company positions and corporate goals. The Manager will work with the Integrated Strategy and Planning Communications and Events team to identify, design, and create materials and meetings/events that effectively deliver corporate and business unit messages to key audiences. Acting as a representative for the Communications & Events team, the Manager will communicate company positions, corporate goals, and objectives to the business unit while also relaying key business unit initiatives and objectives back to the Communications & Events team. Mastery of relevant industry and business unit information is crucial for success in this role. Additionally, the Manager may be responsible for translating tactical communications into Spanish suitable for Puerto Rico media and delivering accurate translations of external communications from standard English to Spanish. This includes advising and supporting major project teams with communications or materials delivered in Spanish, such as messages, QA, press releases, and social media posts.

Responsibilities

  • Support leader communications through various mediums including presentations and scripts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience developing, executing and integrating communications plans OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience in the same.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience providing counsel, influence, and challenge to business leaders.
  • Experience writing and editing in AP style.
  • Experience with project management, including planning and organizing resources.
  • Experience leading and completing multiple projects on deadline.
  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership.

Nice-to-haves
