About the position

The Manager, Community Initiatives will oversee the logistics of various organizational events, ensuring they are executed with high quality and align with the strategic goals of the organization. This role involves planning, coordination, and execution of programs, particularly focusing on Intro Nashville and YP Nashville programming, while also providing logistical support for other key events. The position requires collaboration with various departments and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the logistics of organizational events, ensuring high quality and adherence to budget guidelines.
  • Provide primary logistic leadership for YP Nashville and Intro Nashville programming.
  • Create timelines and set deadlines for all staff involved in event planning.
  • Resolve logistical issues during events and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process for event offerings and recommend improvements.
  • Research event management trends and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external audiences.
  • Serve in a logistical support role for various programs and events.
  • Lead staff debriefs after each program to evaluate effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Prioritize tasks for simultaneous events and ensure completion of assigned tasks.
  • Research, secure, and coordinate contracted vendors for events.
  • Collaborate with the communications team for marketing needs.
  • Coordinate and secure volunteer support for events.
  • Oversee registration and volunteer management at events.
  • Monitor event supplies and manage inventory levels.
  • Input and manage event registration data through the event management system.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in event coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required.
  • Knowledge of event industry terminology and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines through strong organization skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Quick learner with an eye for innovation in event management.
