About the position

The St. Louis Fed is seeking a Manager to lead the Community Partnerships and Investment team, responsible for establishing an annual tactical engagement plan and deploying resources to support strategic engagement efforts. This role involves directing major projects, contributing to high-level business strategies, and overseeing the professional development of staff while fostering relationships within the community and with top officials of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop outreach and engagement strategies that advance economic equity through relationship-building and information sharing across the Eighth District.
  • Manage a staff of community development advisors, overseeing their activities, providing guidance on projects, mentoring, and ensuring appropriate training and developmental opportunities.
  • Lead department-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to a collegial and inclusive work environment and enhance group performance by developing positive working relationships.
  • Regularly provide trend reports on outreach and engagement activities and summarize key highlights to department officers and Bank leadership.
  • Oversee planning, coordination, and marketing of regional and national convenings that explore and inform the flow of community and economic development capital.
  • Facilitate hearings or other forums that involve sensitive and controversial matters.
  • Maintain a broad-based knowledge of community development finance and present to diverse audiences on community and economic development issues.
  • Prepare speeches for executive officers of the Reserve Bank and provide external partners with information on drivers of community and economic development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in public policy, planning, economic development, urban or rural studies, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Background in community or economic development preferred.
  • 5+ years of related work experience, including 2+ years managing or supporting teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to process and assess complex procedures, practices, and policies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
