About the position

The Manager of Compensation and Benefits at FedEx Supply Chain is a strategic role responsible for the design, management, and communication of compensation and benefits programs across the U.S. and Canada. This position aims to attract, reward, motivate, and retain top talent while ensuring that compensation programs remain competitive and aligned with the company's strategy. The role involves overseeing various compensation-related activities, managing a team, and collaborating with key stakeholders to support workforce planning and control labor expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall design and management of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Plan, design, implement, and communicate comprehensive compensation strategies.
  • Manage a variety of compensation-related activities across U.S. and Canada.
  • Ensure programs remain competitive and align with current compensation strategy.
  • Support workforce planning design to control labor expenses.
  • Oversee changes to laws/regulations pertaining to Canadian benefits and recommend changes to management.
  • Provide strategic vision for analyzing compensation market competitive position and program effectiveness.
  • Manage staff reviewing base and variable pay structures based on business needs.
  • Determine appropriate tools for benchmarking compensation and manage vendor relationships.
  • Interact with external vendors for compensation to ensure competitive positioning.
  • Manage and execute all compensation-related efforts through year-end Merit and Incentive cycles.
  • Lead compensation projects such as market pricing reviews and external survey job alignment.
  • Ensure competitive wages to attract and retain a skilled workforce.
  • Collaborate effectively with People Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Senior Management.
  • Manage the department budget and ensure compliance with budgetary concerns.
  • Research, design, and implement cost-effective variable pay plans to motivate performance.
  • Conduct annual executive compensation reviews and make recommendations on total compensation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in compensation and benefits with progressive responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in managing a team with leadership and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in compensation analysis and design, including salary benchmarking and incentive plan design.
  • Experience with benefits administration, including health, retirement, and wellness programs.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills to evaluate compensation structures and benefits effectiveness.
  • Proven ability to interpret data and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present complex information clearly.
  • Experience in the integration and implementation of Workday or similar payroll systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing tools and HRIS platforms, such as ADP, SAP, SuccessFactors, or Oracle HCM.
