About the position

The Manager - Compliance Change is responsible for overseeing compliance-related activities within the organization, ensuring that policies, processes, and technologies meet regulatory standards. This role involves collaborating with various departments to identify and remediate compliance gaps, manage projects related to compliance improvements, and lead a team focused on compliance remediation efforts. The position requires a strong understanding of mortgage banking and compliance regulations, as well as excellent managerial and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Head a team responsible for performing remediation activities.
  • Identify gaps in processes, policies, federal and state laws, and technology through reviewing federal and state exam reports, quality assurance and quality control reports, testing and monitoring results, and other third-party reviews.
  • Create remediation strategies to cure identified gaps.
  • Serve as the project manager to address remediation gaps when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support remediation efforts.
  • Create a testing plan with VP Compliance operations to validate the effectiveness of the remediation efforts.
  • Document and track all gaps requiring remediation, the cure process, and the testing completed to provide closure.
  • Provide documentation to support the remediation cure process for internal and external requests.
  • Perform personnel managerial duties such as goal setting, performance monitoring, and coaching.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 6-8 years of progressive compliance experience required.
  • 2-4 years of mortgage banking experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of prior supervisory/management experience required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage technology.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with careful decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to achieve results.
