About the position

The Manager of Consumer Insights at SharkNinja plays a pivotal role in supporting the growing demands for consumer insights that are critical to the development of high-quality, innovative products. This position reports directly to the Director of Consumer Insights for Shark and involves a hands-on approach to conducting, executing, and managing both quantitative and qualitative research projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with various teams, including Marketing, Product Development, Engineering, and Consumer Services, to ensure that consumer insights are effectively integrated into product development processes. In this role, the Manager will leverage their proficiency in consumer insight methodologies to design new and creative approaches that advance insights. They will establish appropriate processes and methodologies for customer research projects, collaborating with research partners as necessary. As a thought leader, the Manager will guide analysts in developing, managing, and executing research plans, as well as creating and presenting insight reports. This position also involves managing internal and external resources within established budget guidelines. The Manager will be responsible for developing research plans in collaboration with Marketing and Product Development, conducting qualitative and quantitative customer research to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for new product development. They will also conduct their own research to link product development projects to customer and market needs, identifying potential unmet customer needs that can inform new product features and marketing strategies. The ability to synthesize insights and communicate them effectively to all levels of the organization, including C-Suite leadership, is essential. The role requires problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to recommending solutions as needed, along with experience in moderating focus groups and conducting one-on-one interviews. Overall, the Manager of Consumer Insights will operate autonomously as a subject matter expert within the consumer insights team, bringing a wealth of experience and a strategic mindset to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and manage quantitative and qualitative research projects to support product development.
  • Establish processes and methodologies for customer research projects, collaborating with research partners as needed.
  • Guide analysts in developing, managing, and executing research plans and insight report creation.
  • Manage internal and external resources within established budget guidelines.
  • Develop research plans in collaboration with Marketing and Product Development.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative customer research to identify trends and insights for new product development.
  • Identify potential unmet customer needs for new product features and marketing strategies.
  • Synthesize insights to communicate the bigger picture with a focus on strategic influence.
  • Present key findings and represent the voice of the consumer to all levels of the organization, including C-Suite leadership.
  • Moderate focus groups and conduct one-on-one interviews to gather consumer insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 5-7 years of research experience in qualitative and quantitative custom research, preferably in a marketing position.
  • Experience managing Consumer Insights Analysts and providing constructive feedback.
  • Strong project management skills and hands-on research experience.
  • Highly analytical with familiarity in statistical modeling and analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with strong writing abilities.
  • Ability to synthesize information from various sources focusing on relevancy and impact opportunity.
  • Demonstrated empathy and adaptability in communication style.
