About the position

The Manager, Content Design (MCD) at Ring is responsible for establishing the user experience standards for Ring's product suite through effective content design and writing. This role involves leading a team to develop impactful content strategies that enhance customer journeys, utilizing data to inform decisions and improve accessibility and conversion rates. The MCD will work collaboratively across teams to ensure a cohesive product experience and will manage a hybrid team of content designers and writers.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evangelize global and regional content guidelines and best practices to standardize frameworks and methodologies.
  • Own content lifecycle; lead cross-org design reviews and participate in product and tech debates to influence customer outcomes.
  • Use data analysis, user research, benchmarking, and audits to substantiate content decisions and improvements.
  • Lead strategic alignment across organizations, advising on core UX disciplines and processes.
  • Align teams towards coherent approaches, communicating complex product concepts in clear language.
  • Incorporate post-launch retrospectives and feedback loops for optimization.
  • Set content vision and optimize organizational structures to meet business goals.
  • Align ambiguous content, technology, and customer education problems to build and scale new product solutions.
  • Manage a high volume of complex programs.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of design experience
  • 3+ years of leading design teams experience
  • Experience leading design teams in problem definition, artifact rendering, cross-functional collaboration and delivery, and user validation and measurement
  • Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design process
  • Knowledge of user experience principles and techniques
  • Experience shipping innovative, successful consumer products
  • Familiarity with end-user documentation for consumer-packaged goods, tech, or electronics

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working cross-team and synthesizing feedback from product management, engineering, testing, and marketing
  • Experience with agile/scrum
  • Experience measuring the impact of work against key business and customer experience goals
