About the position

The Manager, Content Management Engineering at AARP is a pivotal role that combines technical leadership with team management. This position is responsible for overseeing a team of engineers focused on the architecture, design, development, and continuous improvement of AARP's enterprise solutions. The manager will ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices while also engaging in hands-on development within AARP's technology ecosystem. The role emphasizes the importance of delivering value-based solutions and fostering a collaborative environment among engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing the technical roadmap for the platform or capability considering value-based outcomes, costs, and performance.
  • Ensuring sound integration, data, security, and business architecture design throughout the platform lifecycle.
  • Providing rapid delivery and development of technical solutions that align with business outcomes.
  • Providing technical leadership for audits, disaster recovery, and ongoing operations related to platform systems.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to platform systems and solutions.
  • Driving continuous improvements of implementation methodology and technical service offerings.
  • Participating in a Community of Interest for engineers to share information and strengthen understanding of business needs.
  • Ensuring the team meets defined individual and team goals through mentoring and performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of deep knowledge of CMS development and its components.
  • 5+ years of team leadership and people management skills.
  • 10+ years of application engineering experience, ideally in Java.
  • 5+ years experience in cloud computing technologies, ideally AWS.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of deep knowledge of Adobe Experience Cloud and its components.
  • Experience with Adobe Products such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe Analytics, and Adobe Target.
  • AEM Certifications.
