About the position

The Manager of Contracts and Acquisitions is responsible for overseeing the acquisition and contract closing process within the legal department. This role ensures that all deals are closed accurately and in compliance with both company and industry standards, while also managing post-closing tasks. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in real estate acquisitions, contracts, due diligence, and closings, along with the ability to train and manage team members effectively. In this position, the manager will draft and review various legal documents, perform redline reviews, and collaborate closely with internal departments on issues related to asset management, real estate, title, and other corporate and regulatory matters. The role also involves auditing existing sites to ensure that all data remains clean and current. The ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment is essential. Key job functions include assisting in the oversight of the development, negotiation, and execution of acquisition and closing contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The manager will oversee the post-closing integration of all documents and tasks, manage asset management issues, and lead ongoing skill gap training and performance evaluations for team members. Additionally, the role requires ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all transactions, performing advanced title and survey reviews, and assisting in agreement negotiations and redline reviews. The manager will also work with the Director of Legal Operations on various departmental issues to meet customer-focused metrics for both internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the acquisition and contract closing process for the legal department.
  • Ensure all deals are closed accurately and in compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Manage post-closing integration and ensure all tasks are completed.
  • Assist in the development, negotiation, and execution of acquisition and closing contracts.
  • Oversee the due diligence review process and manage internal and external teams.
  • Perform advanced title and survey reviews and provide guidance to paralegals.
  • Review and audit closing transaction document drafts for accuracy.
  • Assist in agreement negotiations and redline reviews.
  • Lead ongoing skill gap training and performance evaluations of team members.
  • Work with the Director of Legal Operations on compliance and workload distribution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in a real estate and/or corporate legal department.
  • Prefer paralegal certification or Certified Legal Assistant.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the wireless communication or real estate industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Visual Basic is a plus.
