About the position

The Manager - Controller (Finance Operations) at L'Oréal is responsible for providing management with essential analyses for effective plant management, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring financial performance through rigorous reporting and cost control. This role involves collaboration across various divisions to implement best practices and support financial trends and budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Supplies management with necessary analyses for effective plant management.
  • Warns of potential deviations or risks in terms of results.
  • Identifies key areas of improvement and provides alternatives for cost savings.
  • Enforces deadlines for end-of-month, trend, budget, and three-year plan reporting.
  • Conducts indirect/overhead cost control analysis and efficiency reporting.
  • Manages purchase order (PO) approval and related internal controls.
  • Leads the purchasing function at the plant level.
  • Creates chargebacks resulting from operations.
  • Collaborates with other sites and divisions for best practice implementation.
  • Provides financial support and analysis for monthly results, financial trends, and budget.
  • Responsible for daily reporting and performance measurement for the site.
  • Directly manages two employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required.
  • 5-7 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Highly proficient in Excel; SAP experience is a plus.
  • Ability to interact successfully with business colleagues.
  • Sound collaboration skills to build and maintain relationships.
  • Independent problem-solving and thorough analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Well-developed communication and strong influencing skills.
  • Self-starter with a desire to promote continuous improvement.
  • Ability to communicate accounting matters with all organizational levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • Certificate in Accounting (Chartered/CMA/CPA/CIA) helpful.
  • Experience in audit (internal or external) helpful.
