About the position

The Cost Accounting Manager for the Outdoor Performance Group is responsible for analyzing and controlling production costs, materials, labor, and overhead across all manufacturing sites. This role ensures accurate cost information for decision-making and collaborates with various departments to enhance efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production costs and variances to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness
• Conduct regular cost analysis and provide insights to improve efficiency and reduce expenses
• Collaborate with FP&A to develop and manage budgets for various departments or projects
• Serve as the subject matter expert on Standard costing in Net Suite
• Support the ERP integration of all OPG Manufacturing Sites
• Monitor inventory levels and valuation, implementing strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs
• Prepare accurate and timely inventory reporting for management review
• Establish consistent costing and reserve processes and procedures across manufacturing sites
• Assist with the creation and validation of manufacturing capital investment requests to determine whether Return on Investment and payback period meets/exceeds corporate guidelines
• Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant data and insights
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cost accounting processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• 10+ years of progressive Accounting and/or costing experience in a consumer products manufacturing/sourcing company
• Ability to learn and master costing modules within NetSuite, specifically the Advanced Manufacturing module
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and solve problems
• Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization
