About the position

The Manager, Crew Scheduling Operations at Hawaiian Airlines is responsible for leading a team in a 24/7 operational environment, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies. This limited-term position focuses on executing the operations strategy, managing crew scheduling, and fostering a culture of aloha and teamwork within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Expert on Crew Scheduling procedures based on the Federal Aviation Regulations and contractual applications.
  • Leads and establishes duties for Crew Schedulers.
  • Direct team on strategy for crew scheduling, focused on executing the airline's daily operation.
  • Monitor and guide the team with planning for weekly and monthly scheduling needs and operational factors including irregular operations, emergency response, and service recovery.
  • Liaison with the Director of Crew Scheduling and the Manager of Compliance and Training to develop the strategy for executing procedures to adhere to contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate with Systems Operations Control Center (SOCC) and other SOCC employees regarding contractual interpretation, staffing challenges, and Crew Scheduling impacts.
  • Work with SOCC, Inflight, Flight, and Airport Operations teams to discuss delays and methods for mitigation from a crew perspective.
  • Partner with the Director of Crew Scheduling and the Manager of Compliance and Training to form the crew scheduling committee to resolve crewmember issues and concerns.
  • Support the Crew Scheduler team through effective performance management and ongoing feedback.
  • Manage Crew Scheduler accountability and performance across the team, aligned with time management.
  • Assist the Manager of Compliance and Training with responding to crewmember scheduling inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with all Corporate procedures and policies.
  • Foster a work culture based on Company purpose and values.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years experience working with labor contracts and federal aviation requirements.
  • At least one year experience managing a team.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lead group discussions and training exercises.
  • Ability to work well across multiple organizations to obtain support and compliance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five years Crew Scheduling experience.
  • Three years experience managing a team of greater than ten people.
  • Experience working with Federal Aviation Regulations part 117 and 121.467.
