About The Position

The Manager of Current Schedules at Spirit Airlines is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the near-term flight schedules of the airline. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the schedules are commercially profitable and operationally viable. The position requires strong problem-solving skills and effective communication across multiple departments, as well as the ability to manage multiple issues under pressure. The manager will also be involved in adjusting the fleet plan, implementing schedule changes, and coordinating with various operational departments to ensure the integrity of the airline's schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Economics, Business Administration, Aviation or related field.
• 5-7 years experience in Economics, Business Administration, Aviation or a related field.
• 1-3 years of People Management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access).
• Proficient in scheduling software such as Sabre, Schedule Manager, OASIS, and GDS/PSS systems like Navitaire or Amadeus.
• Excellent knowledge of the commercial aviation world, including airline networks, fleets, and airport operations.

• Experience in the commercial aviation industry.
• Strong presentation skills for developing high-quality PowerPoint presentations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain near-term company flight schedules while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop the Spirit Airlines schedule to drive commercial results and meet operational needs.
• Suggest innovative ways to improve the current schedule.
• Implement close-in schedule changes for commercial and operational reasons.
• Adjust the company fleet plan based on daily inputs.
• Assist with internal and external schedule distribution, maintaining the schedule in reservation systems and third-party channels.
• Make the schedule more commercially attractive from an aircraft gauge and market timing perspective.
• Run gating at airports from a planning perspective and manage gate plots.
• Coordinate with Operations Control, Maintenance, Ground Operations, and other departments to ensure operational integrity.
• Review schedules collaboratively with team members considering cost and operational concerns.
