About the position

The Manager of Custodial Operations at the University of Missouri is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily custodial, solid waste, and recycling operations across campus facilities. This role involves ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for students and staff by leading a team of approximately 200 employees and managing a significant operational area of 10 million gross square feet. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to coordinate with various stakeholders and handle personnel issues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, review, and investigate custodial conditions in E & G and Auxiliary buildings.
• Oversee, develop, and monitor custodial training programs.
• Work closely with trainers on new staff development and product/equipment training.
• Coordinate and communicate work and job conditions with campus stakeholders.
• Handle personnel issues, grievances, discipline, terminations, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
