About the position

The Customer Service Manager at Performance Foodservice is responsible for overseeing the Customer Service department, ensuring that both customers and Account Managers receive prompt, courteous, and accurate service. This role involves managing staff to meet customer needs, enhancing customer relationships, and supporting sales initiatives to improve profitability. The position emphasizes a strong commitment to service quality and teamwork within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Supervises associates including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
• Demonstrates a strong service quality commitment through personal example and ensures all employees understand their roles in meeting customer expectations.
• Provides effective customer service by answering questions, resolving problems, and providing accurate data and reporting.
• Works closely with other employees/managers to resolve problems and effectively meet customer needs.
• Utilizes the computer system to provide customers with accessible information, process payments, and run query reports.
• Recommends system enhancements and/or improvements as appropriate.
• Supports the achievement of all assigned sales and gross profit objectives.
• Motivates and creates an environment for Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) to excel.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• 4 - 6 Years of previous customer service, retail, sales, or warehouse experience
• Team lead or supervisory experience

• 6 - 10 Years of previous customer service, retail, sales, or warehouse experience within the foodservice industry
• Supervisory experience
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM) certification
• Customer Service Manager (CSMC) certification
