About the position

The Cyber Security Manager is a management role responsible for overseeing IT operations and projects within the organization, particularly focusing on cyber security measures. This position involves collaboration with the Director of IT to ensure the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure both in the office and on vessels. The role requires a strong understanding of current technologies and practices, as well as the ability to communicate technical concepts to business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Keep up to date and make recommendations on the latest cyber security measures.
  • Act as the primary Cyber Security representative within the company.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures on boats and in the office.
  • Assist in desktop ticket resolution when needed.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of IT under the direction of the Director of IT.
  • Assist the IT director in strategic IT planning.
  • Prioritize resources and maintain budget consistent with strategic objectives.
  • Develop an understanding of business needs by building relationships with other business leaders.
  • Accountable for performance, security, and life cycle management of the organization's infrastructure including datacenter, networking, telephony, end-user equipment, and security.
  • Assist in the development of processes, technology/vendor standards, and deployment guidelines for all critical aspects of the IT service offering.
  • Run an effective service management program based on best-practice processes and disciplines.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and evaluate their incorporation into IT products to deliver positive business value.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and develop team members.
  • Promote the importance of cyber security within the organization and champion processes and technologies to achieve a secure environment.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree required.
  • Marine industry experience preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in IT.
  • Two or more years in an IT infrastructure technical role.
  • Expertise in software and hardware architecture, operating systems, cloud adoption, networking, cyber security, and line of business applications.
  • In-depth business process analysis experience.
  • Experience in process improvement.
  • Strong business acumen, including industry and specific processes.
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and practices.
  • Skilled in strategic thinking, business and technical planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and team building skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
