As a Manager of Data Engineering at Optum Services, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming. Your primary responsibility will be the management and manipulation of structured data, focusing on building business intelligence tools and conducting analyses to identify patterns and trends. You will lead a team in developing data solutions that support analyses, interpret results, and develop actionable insights, presenting recommendations for organizational use. In this role, you will partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids, and business case analyses. You will manage teams that develop scalable business intelligence solutions that support self-service BI tools, working closely with cross-functional teams, competency leads, and both technical and business stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include understanding and analyzing requirements, supporting project planning, performance monitoring, and solution deployment functions. You will also perform proof of concepts (POCs) as part of the software development life cycle, ensuring alignment with business plans and goals. Additionally, you will develop complex BI solutions using emerging AI technologies such as OpenAI, ChatGPT, and BARD, while leveraging existing tools and technologies in the supporting line of business. Defining and developing productivity KPIs for contact center chatbots and their success metrics will be part of your duties, along with supporting visualization on service desk agent performance, analyzing key driving factors, and suggesting data-backed ways to reduce contact. Your role will require you to articulate business requirements into technical information, use cases, systems interaction diagrams, user stories, and detailed specifications. You will also provide end-user support, production system support, analyze defects, troubleshoot issues, and handle incident, problem, and change management. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., allowing for flexibility in your work environment.
