About the position

The Data Engineering Manager at RING Data Services is responsible for leading a team of Data Engineers and BI Engineers to innovate and manage the AWS Data Platform and supporting systems. This role focuses on enhancing data engineering capabilities, ensuring data security and governance, and driving cost efficiency initiatives. The manager will play a crucial role in shaping the data-driven culture of RING, enabling decision-makers with actionable insights and metrics to support business transformation.

Responsibilities

• Shape and build the AWS Data Platform and supporting systems.
• Manage a team of Data Engineers and BI Engineers.
• Focus on data engineering innovation and core data platform services, including Enterprise Data Lake and Data Warehouse.
• Spearhead enterprise-wide data security, governance, and cost efficiency initiatives.
• Implement large-scale data engineering solutions consumed by various applications and systems.

Requirements

• 7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience.
• 5+ years of experience managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management.
• Experience with SQL and ETL processes.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Quicksight.
• Proficiency in R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab, or other statistical/machine learning software.
• 4+ years of experience in large data warehousing environments.
• 10+ years of experience in data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, and reporting/analytic tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data observability and infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of data ops methodology and systems architecture.
