About the position

N-able is seeking a new Manager of Data Engineering to come join us on our exciting journey of growth! As a part of our team, you will lead a team of data engineers in the development and maintenance of key enterprise data solutions, including our enterprise Data Lakehouse. You will oversee the full lifecycle of data solutions and feature delivery, adopting an Agile methodology for timely and efficient execution. Your role will involve providing hands-on technical guidance to solve complex data engineering challenges, ensuring data is accessible, trustworthy, and easy to consume across the enterprise. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, prioritize feature requests, break down work into manageable tasks, and define clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Additionally, you will foster cross-functional collaboration within an Agile environment, addressing dependencies across teams and ensuring timely resolution of issues to meet delivery goals. Balancing the development of new features with ongoing maintenance and production support will be key, as well as setting clear team goals, performance metrics, and expectations, continuously monitoring performance and driving improvements to achieve team and company objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of data engineers in the development and maintenance of key enterprise data solutions, including our enterprise Data Lakehouse.

• Provide hands-on technical guidance to solve complex data engineering challenges, ensuring data is accessible, trustworthy, and easy to consume across the enterprise.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading data engineering teams and delivering large-scale data solutions in a cloud-based environment.
• 2+ years of experience with SQL, Python, ETL, data modeling, APIs, cloud computing, and big data technologies.
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related roles with a focus on data & analytics.
• Experience with software development practices including git, modularity, containerization, test driven development, CI/CD, unit testing.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, with experience managing the end-to-end delivery of data projects.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, and driving technical excellence.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly around ensuring the availability, scalability, and quality of data solutions.
• Effective communication skills, able to work closely with business and technical stakeholders to prioritize and manage expectations.
