About the position

The Manager of Data Engineering will lead a team of data engineers within the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) Data Operations Team. This role is crucial for overseeing the development and maintenance of data pipelines, infrastructure, and systems, ensuring efficient data integration and processing. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the organization's data needs and drive strategic initiatives in data engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of data engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
• Develop and execute the data engineering strategy to support the organization's data needs.
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable data pipelines.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and implement data models.
• Identify and address bottlenecks and inefficiencies in data processing.
• Establish and enforce data security and governance policies and best practices.
• Foster effective collaboration and communication with stakeholders across the organization.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data engineering, including hands-on experience with data integration, data modeling, and ETL processes.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing data engineering teams.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, SQL, and Java/C#.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
• In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
