About the position

The Manager of Data Engineering at CVS Health is responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of data infrastructure and pipelines to support advanced analytics and business intelligence needs. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, particularly Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure data quality and reliability. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Architect and implement data solutions using Snowflake, GCP, and BigQuery.
  • Ensure data architecture aligns with industry best practices and organizational goals.
  • Integrate data from various sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to facilitate data movement and transformation.
  • Implement data governance and security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering and cloud technologies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years extensive experience with Snowflake, GCP, and BigQuery.
  • 5+ years of experience with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and SQL.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling.
  • Experience with cloud-based data integration and orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior data engineering role with a focus on cloud-based platforms.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior data engineers and providing guidance on best practices.
