About the position

The Manager, Data Governance Customer Success at Colgate-Palmolive is responsible for leading the enterprise stewardship community in adopting data governance and management best practices. This role involves consulting with business and technology stakeholders to enhance data governance, drive data maturity, and develop strategies that support operational reporting and analytics. The position requires a strong focus on enabling data citizens to effectively use and manage data assets, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Consult and support business and technology stakeholders in understanding data governance and data management.
  • Drive overall enterprise data maturity and develop data strategies to support growth.
  • Engage domain data leaders in identifying data problems and use-cases for operational reporting and analytics.
  • Support domain data leaders in implementing a data governance framework aligned with enterprise strategy.
  • Drive use case activation with prioritized domains and report progress to partners and leadership.
  • Lead workshops for use case definition and scoping, manage data definitions in the enterprise data catalog.
  • Build intake assessments and implement prioritization frameworks for key use cases and domains.
  • Develop playbooks and SOPs for data stewards to implement data governance and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 6-8 years of experience in large data transformations focusing on data governance and data privacy.
  • Extensive knowledge of data management and governance principles and industry trends.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple business stakeholders and align with senior leadership.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Consulting or product management experience.
  • Proficiency in metadata and data quality tools like Atlan, Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Atacama, Talend.
