About the position

Colgate-Palmolive Company is seeking a Manager of Data Governance Customer Success to lead the enterprise stewardship community in adopting data governance and management best practices. This role is pivotal in enabling data citizens to effectively use and manage data assets across the organization. As a Subject Matter Expert in data management, you will consult and support business and technology stakeholders in understanding data governance and data management principles, driving overall enterprise data maturity, and developing data strategies that foster continued growth. In this position, you will engage with domain data leaders and practitioners to identify data problems and use cases that can enhance operational reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. You will support domain data leaders in implementing a data governance framework that aligns with enterprise strategy, policy, and regulatory requirements while adhering to standard data management processes. Your responsibilities will include driving use case activation with prioritized domains, reporting progress to partners and leadership in data forums, and leading workshops that align with the defined data journey for use case definition and scoping. Additionally, you will coordinate the build of data products, manage data definitions in the enterprise data catalog, and continuously measure and monitor data quality to ensure data protection. You will also develop playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data stewards to implement data governance and management using enterprise tools. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality products and the ability to empower and guide cross-functional teams effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Consult and support business and technology stakeholders in understanding data governance and data management.
  • Drive overall enterprise data maturity and develop data strategies to drive continued growth.
  • Engage domain data leaders and practitioners in identifying data problems and use-cases for operational reporting and analytics.
  • Support domain data leaders in implementing a data governance framework that aligns with enterprise strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive use case activation with prioritized domains and report progress to partners and leadership in data forums.
  • Lead and facilitate workshops for use case definition and scoping, coordinating the build of data products.
  • Manage data definitions in the enterprise data catalog and continuously measure and monitor data quality.
  • Build the intake assessment and implement a prioritization framework for key use cases and domains.
  • Develop playbooks and SOPs for data stewards to implement data governance and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or related field; Master's degree in information management or Library and Information Science preferred.
  • 6-8 years of proven experience in large data transformations focusing on data governance and data privacy.
  • Extensive knowledge of data management and data governance principles, implementations, and latest industry trends.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple business stakeholders and engage with enterprise senior leadership.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to empower and guide cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Consulting or product management experience.
  • Proficiency in metadata and data quality tools like Atlan, Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Atacama, Talend.
