About the position

The Manager, Data Governance leads the Bank in implementing and maintaining data governance best practices to ensure data is accessible, trustworthy, and well-governed. This role promotes consistency in reporting, protects confidential information, and enhances the value of data as a strategic asset. As part of the Enterprise Risk Management team, the manager will contribute to AgriBank's mission of supporting the agricultural community.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive data governance framework.
  • Prepares policies for approval by the Data Review Board, in compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
  • Participates in the Data Review Board and District Data Council.
  • Oversees communication and training program for data governance framework.
  • Oversees Business Intelligence function, ensuring reporting is accessible and optimized throughout the Bank.
  • Collaborates in determining data quality standards to ensure the reliability and validity of AgriBank's data.
  • Implements data security measures, including user access control, encryption, and auditing to protect sensitive data.
  • Provides updates to data governance stakeholders.
  • Ensures the identification, classification, and documentation of critical data elements aligns with the Data Governance strategy.
  • Educates stakeholders on data governance processes.
  • Works with Technology & Security Officer to develop and enhance data security framework.
  • Ensures data governance tool(s) are maintained, controlled, and actively used by AgriBank employees.
  • Provides ongoing leadership to System data governance efforts.
  • Designs possible System-wide data governance methodologies.
  • Builds relationships with other System Technology providers to share best practices and influence consistent responses to data integrity and consistency issues.
  • Selects, develops, motivates, and evaluates senior data analyst and data intern (as needed).
  • Leads and effectively collaborates in a highly matrixed environment, including internal and external resources.
  • Determines division of responsibilities and provides work guidance and direction.
  • Implements performance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • CDMP certification preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of relational data structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise data management processes, procedures, and data support.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, and data mapping tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of database design.
  • Knowledge of Farm Credit systems and/or banking.
  • Knowledge of Data Management Body of Knowledge.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of structured query language (SQL) and relational databases.
  • Knowledge in querying large data sets.
