The Data Governance Manager at Royal Caribbean Group is a pivotal role responsible for developing, implementing, and managing data policies across the organization. This position ensures that data governance and compliance standards are met, and that the organization's data assets are properly managed and utilized in compliance with relevant regulations. The role will oversee the governance of data used in AI applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and promoting ethical AI practices. The Data Governance Manager will manage the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, monitor AI data usage, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain the integrity and privacy of data. In this role, the Data Governance Manager will be tasked with policy development and implementation, ensuring that comprehensive data policies, standards, and procedures are maintained. The manager will lead data governance initiatives to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of data, implementing data governance scorecards with key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data governance processes. Additionally, the manager will establish ethical guidelines and compliance standards for AI use, develop repeatable standards and implementation processes to ensure product uniformity and quality, and manage data governance frameworks and committees. The position also involves ensuring compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and LGPD, staying updated on changes in data privacy laws, and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with data policies and regulations. The Data Governance Manager will develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on data policies and best practices, promoting a culture of data governance and privacy within the organization. Furthermore, the role includes identifying and mitigating risks related to data management and usage, collaborating with IT and legal teams to ensure robust data privacy measures are in place, and overseeing data quality initiatives to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data. Stakeholder engagement is also a key responsibility, as the manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, act as a point of contact for data policy-related inquiries, and maintain open communication with data stakeholders.
