About the position

This manager level position is primarily responsible for managing strategic data-informed decisions, overseeing data and information collection on targeted variables in a systematic manner, and preparing data for analytic efforts. The role involves executing creative data analytic approaches that lead to actionable outcomes, developing, implementing, and automating business and reporting solutions, and interpreting data analysis results. The manager will pursue professional growth and provide developmental opportunities for team members by soliciting and acting on performance feedback, building collaborative relationships, and training talent for growth opportunities. This includes delegating tasks, fostering open dialogue, executing performance management guidelines, and working closely with employees to set goals and provide feedback to drive performance improvement. In managing the designated work unit, the manager will translate business plans into tactical action items, ensure adherence to policies and procedures, oversee work assignments, and align team efforts. They will build accountability for results, identify improvement opportunities, and guide performance while developing contingency plans as necessary. The position also requires managing the development, implementation, and automation of business and reporting solutions by partnering with stakeholders to meet their design and implementation needs. This includes reviewing and approving results, ensuring data reports and visualizations meet established standards, and reporting key findings to senior-level stakeholders. Additionally, the manager will consult with senior-level clients to identify key business needs, manage the development of outcomes and process measures, and ensure end-users are supported and trained. They will also oversee data preparation for analytic efforts, ensuring data quality and accuracy, and managing data collection methods systematically. Finally, the role involves executing creative data analytic approaches, reviewing data design and analysis, and providing technical support on complex analyses, including inferential and predictive statistics.

Responsibilities

• Manage strategic data-informed decisions and oversee data collection on targeted variables.
• Execute creative data analytic approaches leading to actionable outcomes.
• Develop, implement, and automate business and reporting solutions.
• Consult with senior-level clients to identify key business needs and manage the development of outcomes and process measures.
• Review findings and their application to contextual settings to influence decision making.
• Ensure data quality and accuracy in data preparation for analytic efforts.
• Lead routine data refresh and updates, ensuring users are trained and supported.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Social/Physical/Life Science, Business, or related field.
• Minimum six (6) years progressive corporate, non-profit, or consulting experience, including four (4) years in data analytics or a directly related field.
• Knowledge of negotiation, business planning, written communication, data extraction, data mining, and data visualization tools.
• Experience with statistical programming languages and relational database management.
