About the position

The Manager - Data Science at The Venetian Las Vegas is responsible for leading the Data Science team to apply statistical and machine learning techniques to derive actionable insights that enhance business operations and drive profitability. This role involves mentoring team members, managing analytics initiatives, and collaborating with stakeholders to address complex business challenges through innovative data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive data science analytics initiatives using AI/ML, clustering, and regression modeling techniques.
• Manage and lead the data science team to address complex business challenges with machine learning techniques.
• Build scalable demand forecasting models to optimize productivity and labor.
• Design, develop, and implement predictive models and algorithms to support business objectives.
• Create new input features and build end-to-end data pipelines for machine learning models.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and examine large datasets to uncover trends and opportunities.
• Monitor performance of existing machine learning and statistical models and refit as necessary.
• Present data and analysis clearly to facilitate understanding and decision-making.
• Collaborate with domain experts to identify model enhancement opportunities.
• Research the latest machine learning technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, data science, mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in data science.
• 2 or more years in a data science individual contributor role.
• Hands-on experience building machine learning and predictive models.
• Extensive experience with SQL and Python.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Databricks is a plus.
• Strong analytical, technical, and mathematical/statistical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the hospitality and/or gaming industry.
• Experience with BigQuery.
• Experience working on a cloud-based ML platform.
