About the position

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing technical and organizational support for all Database Marketing efforts. This includes gathering data and providing actionable insights to help guide strategic decisions, creating and executing queries to extract data for direct marketing programs, and preparing data for direct marketing vendors. The role requires a strong understanding of database management and marketing strategies to effectively support the organization's marketing initiatives. The essential functions of the position involve accurately creating and modifying existing database queries to extract data for direct marketing programs. The incumbent will manipulate and sort lists in preparation for direct marketing vendors, create, manage, and distribute direct marketing reports, and reconcile data across multiple databases to ensure accuracy in reporting and direct marketing lists. Additionally, the role involves researching and recommending effective direct marketing approaches, supporting operational department needs, and identifying and implementing process improvements. The incumbent will serve as a training resource on analytic programming tools and methods, coordinate system testing with IT and Shared Services, investigate and solve data quality issues, and prepare ad-hoc analysis upon request. Maintaining professional relations with vendors and guests is crucial, as is effective communication with all levels of the operation. The position also includes monitoring daily operations of the Database Department and overseeing direct reports, which include a Marketing Analyst and a Direct Marketing Specialist. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately create and modify existing database queries to extract data for direct marketing programs.
  • Manipulate and sort lists in preparation for direct marketing vendors.
  • Create, manage, and distribute direct marketing reports.
  • Reconcile data across multiple databases to ensure accuracy in reporting and direct marketing lists.
  • Research and recommend effective direct marketing approaches.

  • Serve as a training resource on analytic programming tools and methods.

  • Attend and participate in off property functions and events as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the operation.
  • Proactively identify issues and concerns to management.
  • Monitor daily operations of Database Department.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Bachelor's in Business, Advertising or Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel including Pivot Tables and Vlookups.
  • Proven ability to write database extract queries using SQL.
  • Excellent communication skills, judgment, high moral integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Strong organizational, planning, public and interpersonal relations skills.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications.
  • Tactful problem-solving abilities and work schedule flexibility required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in Tribal Gaming preferred.
