The Manager, Warehouse will ensure a warehouse culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost through meaningful engagements with warehouse associates, best in-class service to customers, and safe and profitable operations. They will use their experience in warehouse operations to manage personnel and drive efficient warehouse operations through the associates they lead, ensuring the safe, accurate and timely receiving and storage of inbound product or selection and loading of outbound product. The work schedule is Sunday to Thursday, but may change based on business needs. In this role, the manager will lead with a safety mindset that ensures that every US Foods associate remains injury-free, always. They will champion safety procedures, processes, and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture in the warehouse. The manager will oversee and develop warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. They will discuss associate performance with Sr. Warehouse Managers and create plans to address gaps. The manager will create a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open and directing the workforce to ensure efficient workflow. They will direct and supervise the work and productivity of associates within the warehouse department, driving associate engagement and retention, and creating a culture that embodies US Foods values. Participation in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Warehouse Managers, is also a key responsibility. The manager will review performance, coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action as necessary. Additionally, the manager will lead and direct associates to achieve accurate orders that are staged and loaded on the trucks. They will oversee the preparation of the warehouse for shipping or receiving on the next shift, monitor operational information such as "mis-picks" and productivity reports, and take action through coaching and counseling to correct behaviors. The manager will designate dock locations for inbound carriers, ensure product is stocked in appropriate locations in accordance with food safety and FIFO processes, and monitor replenishment activity to minimize the potential for inventory shortages. Regular inspections of the facility for safety hazards and maintaining the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment are also essential duties. The manager will ensure compliance with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements, effectively schedule working shifts, and perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
