In this role as Manager DBA Support, you will lead the Everest DBA team in providing 24x7 support for our database infrastructure. You will be responsible for SQL Server performance tuning, troubleshooting, and monitoring, as well as managing the installation and maintenance of SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups. Ensuring that the DBA team efficiently closes out requests in the ServiceNow queue is crucial, as is the documentation of runbooks and procedures. You will also enforce SOX standards, compliance, and audits, assist in managing both onshore and offshore DBA teams, and conduct technical training and knowledge transfer within the DBA team. This position requires a seasoned DBA with strong technical skills and some leadership experience to ensure the smooth operation of our database systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Everest DBA team to provide 24x7 support for the database infrastructure.
  • Perform SQL Server performance tuning, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
  • Manage the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
  • Ensure timely closure of requests in the DBA ServiceNow queue.
  • Document runbooks and procedures for DBA operations.
  • Enforce SOX standards, compliance, and audits within the DBA team.
  • Assist in the management of onshore and offshore DBA teams.
  • Conduct technical training and knowledge transfer within the DBA team.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of DBA experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience as a database developer is strongly desired.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • At least one year of experience as a team lead or manager.
  • Experience working with offshore teams in different time zones.
  • Expert level T-SQL programming skills are essential.
  • Strong experience with database development and SQL/index tuning.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow is desired.
