About the position

The Dealer Development Manager (DDM) at Kubota Engine America is responsible for establishing and executing a strategic plan for the Dealer Development Department. This role involves collaborating with distributors and dealers to enhance internal processes and workflows, ultimately leading to the development of a comprehensive dealer network. The DDM will oversee the onboarding process, manage performance metrics, and ensure compliance with ISO standards while fostering a customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create a strategic 3-year plan for the Dealer Development Department by identifying opportunities and best practices.
  • Consult upper management on dealer development responsibilities and functions to establish a new dealer development department.
  • Manage the dealer onboarding contract process and ongoing account maintenance.
  • Implement and execute new initiatives that align with the strategic plan, including improvements to dealer onboarding and technician development.
  • Track and execute the annual distributor KPI program.
  • Develop innovative ideas for improvement in all areas of responsibility.
  • Identify training opportunities for the Dealer Development Department.
  • Create and maintain process documentation following ISO-9001 standards.
  • Work with parts business development to improve inventory strategy.
  • Lead with emotional intelligence and maintain an engaged staff.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and address employee complaints.
  • Establish work procedures that support company standards and strategic directives.
  • Prepare and manage the department budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • 5 years of related experience, or 10+ years in Distributor B2B and dealer service development.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet ISO-9001 requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of word processing and presentation applications, and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and professional use of Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
