About the position

The IT Manager at Ashley Furniture is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and executing IT-related activities that align with the priorities of the IT department and the business functions. This role involves providing administrative direction and support for daily operational activities, collaborating with IT leadership and functional management to develop and implement cost-effective technology solutions, and ensuring adherence to IT policies and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and assure the timely completion of IT work at the required quality level.
  • Create and communicate clear definitions of work requirements and goals.
  • Analyze problems, formulate solutions, and assign tasks to team members.
  • Monitor and assist in tasks to ensure quality, cost, security, and performance.
  • Follow and improve departmental and company procedures and processes.
  • Maintain and operate applications and infrastructure devices.
  • Oversee testing of computer production operational routines and documentation.
  • Communicate and train others in operational procedures and methods.
  • Ensure quality of services by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
  • Resolve issues and restore systems to proper working order efficiently.
  • Manage business use of applications throughout the platform lifecycle.
  • Protect IT resources through adherence to security processes and policies.
  • Proactively improve business processes through technology enablement.
  • Assist stakeholders in developing business case documents.
  • Accountable for the delivery of IT projects and programs, including performance metrics.
  • Regularly update management on process optimization efforts and project statuses.
  • Research and report on new technologies appropriate to the area of responsibility.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and make recommendations for equipment and software.
  • Coordinate acquisition of hardware/software with IT leadership.
  • Make employment decisions and manage employee performance.
  • Audit to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Facilitate employee growth through meetings, coaching, and training.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience in IT management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in project management and strategic planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Experience with IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
