About the position

The Manager Development Apparel at Adidas is responsible for managing the product development process for assigned styles from the seasonal kickoff through to commercialization. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and suppliers to ensure effective transitions from design to development, ensuring products are ready for market on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the product development process for assigned styles from seasonal kickoff to commercialization.
  • Communicate necessary information to Marketing, Design, Suppliers, and LO/OC for effective product creation.
  • Ensure target price and product designs are aligned through predictive costing.
  • Review, validate, and approve Factory costing information throughout the creation process.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed standards and negotiate with T1 as needed.
  • Manage handover from design to T1, ensuring all information is complete.
  • Incorporate T1 feedback into design and marketing for quality and cost improvements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry by T1 regarding AD/BOM, costing, or other data.
  • Evaluate prototypes for compliance with AD, manage fit approval, and approve color, accessories, and materials.
  • Manage comments to T1 and ensure all materials and prototypes meet quality standards.
  • Review size sets for accuracy and merchantability of the complete size range.
  • Sign off sealing samples with complete AD prior to buy-ready dates.
  • Research innovations in garment construction and work cross-functionally with teams to implement into product creation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in clothing technology, manufacturing, or comparable education.
  • 2-3 years of work experience in the garment/textile industry.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of material construction and related testing.
  • Ability to fit garments and provide feedback to T1.
  • Understanding of costing and negotiation processes.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Product Data Management Systems.

  • Experience in HR sourcing and product management.
  • Knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing processes.
