About the position

The Digital Forensics Manager at Alvarez & Marsal will lead a team of consultants in leveraging forensic data technologies to manage and uncover data-based evidence in legal and regulatory contexts. This role involves overseeing the entire forensic data lifecycle, from collection to analysis, while establishing consultative relationships with stakeholders to ensure best practices in data handling. The position supports a variety of industry sectors and requires innovative solutions to complex legal matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of consultants throughout all phases of the forensic data lifecycle.
  • Manage onsite data collection activities and ensure adherence to chain of custody protocols.
  • Participate in the collection, pre-processing, and preparation of forensic data artifacts.
  • Perform data extraction and conversion for analysis in a review environment.
  • Analyze digital artifacts to trace user activity and gather evidence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical processes and findings clearly to clients and colleagues, including writing reports on forensic data analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in digital forensics in a client-facing, professional service setting.
  • Extensive experience with on-site and remote forensic preservation of unstructured and structured data sources.
  • Proficiency in forensic tool suites such as OpenText EnCase, Cellebrite UFED4PC, and Magnet Forensics Axiom.
  • Strong understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and best practices in forensic collection and analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or analytical field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Training and certifications from industry organizations (e.g., GFCE, EnCE, CISSP).
  • Experience with quantitative tools such as SAS, Stata, Python, R, Power BI, or SQL.
