About the position

The Manager, Digital Marketing at The Walt Disney Studios will play a pivotal role in shaping the social editorial strategy and campaign development for the Disney Bundle and associated business initiatives. This position is designed for a creative individual who is passionate about storytelling and has a deep understanding of the Disney brand. The Manager will oversee the creation and execution of innovative social media campaigns, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams within Disney+ and Disney Entertainment. This role will also involve mentoring team specialists and coordinators, ensuring that projects align with the overall strategic goals set by team leadership. In this role, the Manager will be responsible for developing platform-specific strategies that enhance engagement and drive performance across various social media channels, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok. The Manager will work to integrate organic and paid social media efforts, ensuring a cohesive approach to content delivery. They will also manage key initiatives aimed at engaging the Disney fandom, collaborating with loyalty and fan engagement programs across the enterprise. The Manager will utilize their extensive knowledge of Disney brands and franchises to create visually stunning social content and campaigns. They will lead the exploration of new social media platforms and trends, ensuring that Disney's fan engagement strategies remain innovative and effective. Additionally, the Manager will execute paid social media campaigns in collaboration with the Media team, translating creative briefs into actionable strategies that resonate with audiences. This role requires a strong focus on campaign planning, creative execution, and relationship management, as the Manager will coordinate with various stakeholders to maximize synergy opportunities across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of a comprehensive social strategy encompassing messaging, engagement tactics, and content performance.
  • Liaise with editorial managers to ensure efficient programming of the overall calendar; manage integration of organic and paid beats for Bundle into the overall calendar for Disney and Disney+ social channels.
  • Manage assigned projects dedicated to engaging the core Disney fandom, collaborating with loyalty and fan engagement programs.
  • Utilize extensive Disney Brand and Franchise knowledge to ideate and execute compelling social content and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify creative solutions supporting marketing and promotional needs for key priorities.
  • Identify new products and emerging trends to engage existing and new audiences for Disney & Disney+.
  • Execute paid social media campaigns for Disney+ Brand and Disney Bundle campaigns in collaboration with the Media team.
  • Translate creative and marketing strategy briefs into effective digital campaign strategies.
  • Lead the planning, review, and approval process across various campaign areas.
  • Act as the key contact and partner for Campaign Planning Leads based on campaign assignments.
  • Align social editorial campaign strategy with campaign strategy lead, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Coordinate daily with various lines of business on cross-company social media marketing initiatives.
  • Manage a direct report and serve as an internal lead for professionals, fostering a work culture that values inclusivity, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in social/digital marketing, ideally working in a big brand setting.
  • Outstanding project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Top of the line passion, appreciation, and knowledge of Disney and Disney+ brands, films, characters, shorts, TV series, and Disney Parks presence.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and creative ideas on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior knowledge of social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) and native products.
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills with the ability to translate traditional marketing content into brand-relevant conversations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to use sound judgement as it relates to brand safety.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in Airtable, Sprinklr publishing and reporting, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Photography, Videography, and Photoshop.
