About the position

The Manager of Digital Marketing Technologies at Foley & Lardner LLP is a pivotal role that encompasses the strategic direction and operational management of all digital marketing technologies utilized by the firm. This position is designed for a leader who can effectively leverage digital technology within the legal sector, where the firm's website and search engine optimization (SEO) are essential for success. The individual will be part of a collaborative team that supports all marketing technology initiatives and is expected to explore innovative applications of non-legal native technology to provide a competitive edge for the firm. The role is hybrid, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote work, and is integral to enhancing the firm's brand through optimized content distribution and technology utilization. In this role, the manager will act as a consultant and strategic director for all marketing technology platforms, ensuring their optimal usage. Responsibilities include managing the firm's web platform (WordPress CMS), overseeing email marketing systems, and leading collaborative sessions to develop strategies that incorporate technology, including AI platforms, to support business development and marketing strategies. The manager will also be responsible for cross-platform data integration, establishing key performance metrics, and providing leadership on various technology initiatives that impact business development and marketing. Additionally, the role involves evaluating vendors and their products to ensure compatibility with the firm's technology stack, as well as leading efforts to improve SEO in alignment with the firm's goals and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as consultant, strategic director, and idea generator for all marketing technology platforms, ultimately optimizing usage, and enhancing content distribution in service of the Firm's brand.
  • Serves as manager of web platform (Wordpress CMS), vendors, and agencies.
  • Manage functionality, data, reporting, and enhancements to the firm's email marketing system (Litera Concep).
  • Lead and participate in collaborative sessions to develop strategy around the use of technology, including AI platforms, in support of the BD&M and Firm strategies.
  • Oversee cross-platform data integration (e.g. email, events, etc. into CRM) and usage.
  • Provide leadership similar to the above on additional BD&M impacting technology initiatives, including help identifying future initiatives through updates to the Marketing Technology roadmaps.
  • Using web, email, and other analytics tools, establish, monitor, and report on key metrics measuring effectiveness of the firm's web properties, intranet and other marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Understand all marketing technology platforms and assist with maintenance and enhancements to functionality and design, and with user support.
  • Evaluate vendors, their products and compatibility with current and future tech stacks for the benefit of the entire Firm. Serve as primary conduit between Procurement and the BD&M team.
  • Lead efforts to improve search engine optimization (SEO) in key areas, consistent with firm goals and sector and practice initiatives.
  • Manages two direct reports (SEO/web and email).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with marketing technologies geared toward generating revenue required.
