About the position

The Manager, Digital Marketing for Disney Entertainment Studios will play a pivotal role in overseeing the editorial strategy for brand and franchise campaigns across various digital and social platforms. This position is integral to the Disney Entertainment Brand & Editorial Team, which is responsible for social programming and engagement for the @Disney platforms, including @MickeyMouse, @MinnieMouse, @TheMuppets, @DisneyPrincesses, and Disney.com. The role requires a dynamic and innovative thinker who can develop audience-first content goals and creative strategies while managing agency partners and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the digital brand strategy. In this role, the Manager will lead the development and implementation of content strategies that align with brand standards and strategic objectives. Responsibilities include creating a monthly editorial calendar that reflects brand priorities, collaborating with internal and external teams throughout the content development lifecycle, and staying updated on digital trends and platform updates to inform strategy and execution. The Manager will also assist with live content coverage for talent press junkets, content shoots, and marketing events as needed. The position involves managing agency partners in content development, ensuring alignment with brand standards, and providing consultation on partner creative. Additionally, the Manager will work closely with cross-functional partners to source and develop creative that aligns with the digital brand strategy, serving as an internal thought partner and digital expert representing the Disney and Franchise brand. Team leadership is also a key component, as the Manager will oversee a direct report and foster a work culture that values inclusivity, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving. Participation in professional development workshops and maintaining documentation of workload and resource needs are also essential duties.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the editorial strategy for brand and franchise campaigns.
  • Develop and implement audience-first content goals and creative.
  • Build out a monthly editorial calendar reflecting priorities and brand goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams throughout the content development lifecycle.
  • Stay abreast of digital trends and platform updates to inform strategy and execution.
  • Assist with live content coverage for talent press junkets, content shoots, and marketing events as needed.
  • Manage agency partners in content development, ensuring alignment with brand standards and strategic objectives.
  • Handle partner support requests and provide consultation on partner creative.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to source and develop creative in alignment with the digital brand strategy.
  • Serve as an internal thought partner and digital expert representing the Disney and Franchise brand.
  • Participate in refining systems and operations for the Social Team.
  • Foster a work culture that values inclusivity, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.
  • Manage a direct report and serve as an internal lead for professionals, including experienced individual contributors.
  • Participate in quarterly planning and professional development workshops.
  • Maintain documentation of incremental workload and resource needs to address bandwidth concerns.
  • Frame and contribute to project team meetings, establish agendas, and provide strategic recommendations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in social/digital marketing, ideally in a big brand setting.
  • Outstanding project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong passion and knowledge of Disney and Disney+ brands, films, characters, and Disney Parks presence.
  • Ability to develop creative, social-first ideas that drive meaningful cultural impact.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and creative ideas on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior knowledge of social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) and native products.
  • Up to date with the latest trends and platform updates to inform strategy.
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills with the ability to translate traditional marketing content into brand-relevant conversations.
  • Passion for storytelling and providing memorable experiences in the social space.
  • Ability to find creative solutions to challenges and use data to drive decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgement regarding brand safety.
  • Polished in presentation and communication.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
  • Perpetual learner's attitude, always looking for ways to improve processes and learn and grow.
  • Passion for creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive content.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in Airtable, Sprinklr publishing and reporting, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Photography, Videography, and Photoshop.
